Cotton Fields

We read that our baby could hear outside sounds in the womb, and on top of that, we could play music, which in theory would be soothing to him later as it would be familiar. So we made a CD of songs we both liked, and played it every night for about a month and a half before he was born. The CD has no affect on him now, at least not one significantly enough for me to notice, but it is still fun to listen to.

The best part is that track 4 of the CD is my mom singing "Cotton Fields", a song she used to sing to us as children. And though my mom is not the best singer in the world, there is nothing as soothing to me as the sounds of my mother singing that song.
