I often read the JREF website. I find the new letter to be interesting. Today had an excellent quote from David Hume:
The smallest spark may here kindle into the greatest flame, 
because the materials are always prepared for it. The avidum
genus auricularum, the gazing populace, receives greedily,
without examination, whatever soothes superstition,
and promotes wonder.
