Going Soft

Today at work we interviewed a candidate for a senior software position. I asked him a set of questions per normal, and decided he was good enough to hire. Everyone else declared no. I couldn't believe it. I am normally the hard-ass interviewer, and the first to say no. At the postmortem I realized the questions I asked were not digging deep enough. Therefore my goal now is to generate a set of technical question good enough to screen out an Architect. Also if you want to apply for an Architect position at Symantec let me know, and I can get your resume to the right people.
