NanoWrimo

It is time for nanowrimo, and I decided to make an attempt this year. I figure if I can wrote 2000 words a night I will do fine. Of course the trick is to keep it up, and hopefully writing in my journal 5 times a week will be good practice.

On a side note chikuru, posted about the Free Rice site, and I get a feeling I will be wasting a lot of time there.

750 grains of rice donated!

do you know what that is in cups?

(turns out it takes a lot of grains to make a cup of rice...)

I sent the link to my mom with a warning about the time-sinkiness of it :)

I donated over 3000 grains last night. My score fluctuated between 38 and 43. It was interesting to me that the difficulty is so variable. I would have a streak of words that I just knew. Followed by a streak of words I didn't know. The score, 38-43, seemed irrelevant.

Wow, good luck with nanowrimo. I tried it a couple of years ago. I actually completed 50,000 words, but it would be a stretch to call them a novel.

Have you hooked up with the Austin group? Do you have any ideas yet?

Thanks for the encouragement. I have not hooked up with a group, but I do have the idea. We will see how it turns out. :)
